Hi Everyone,
Though I've lurked off and on here for several years I haven't posted much. I could've sworn I had signed up years ago but couldn't remember my user name if I had registered so recently registered here(again?). Anyway, bought myself an XP Deus about a month or so ago and absolutely loving this detector however, the WS4 phones weren't working out too well for me, I just couldn't get them to sit right and stay on my head. I started searching for a new set of phones but being in Texas a full sized set of phones like the Killer Bee's is out of the question in the summer here. I ran across a custom built set called the "Treasure Phones" and they seemed to be about what I was looking for and the price was right so I splurged and bought a pair.

I spoke to the owner, I think his name is Don, and he said he'd get them shipped out quick and he did. I received them in a couple days and have to say I am impressed! They are built rock solid, fit very well and are comfortable. They seem to seal around my ear very well and have a nice, thick leather padding so they're almost as quiet as a full sized set of phones. They sound very good but they are sensitive. On my WS4's I usually had the volume level set around 5-6 and with these Treasure Phones I use setting #1 or 2 at the most! They are sensitive so be warned.

So in short; the phones are of excellent build quality and sound as good as any others I've heard. The seller is responsive and ships fast. I think for $99 they're a bargain, highly recommended.

Note: I am not affiliated with the seller in any way, I just wanted to share my experience with them so far. I'm very happy with them, they are great headphones. I don't have any pics of them but would be happy to take a few and post them once I get home from work. Hope this helps if you're looking for a new set of phones.

Forgot to add the link where I purchased them; http://www.detectingdoodads.com/store/p39/TREASURE_PHONES.html

Glad to read your headphones upgrade went well. I have the WS4 headphones and would like the WS5's for full ear coverage but the price stalls my purchase.

RustyGold,
I thought about the WS5's but you're right, a bit pricey. I have a pair of the Sunray ProGolds I use for my other detectors and my wife uses Killer Bee's but they're just too hot for us here in the summer and that's why I avoided some of the other offerings for the Deus. I also like the full ear coverage but I have to admit, these darn things are as close to full coverage as can be but they are quite a bit cooler as they don't cover your entire ear. They seal so well on your ear that they sound like full over the ear phones. I think they do have a trial period but don't quote me on that but I have to say it's the best $100 I've spent so far for my Deus.

This same company also makes a 3d printed charging clip for the coil. I'd read they break very easily so I went ahead and bought one of those too even though I don't need it-yet. ;)

The treasure phones look nice and have a few advantages (earcup swivel and mute switch) but they appear to still be "on the ear" type phones (I could be mistaken, just going by the pics). TxDigger2 please set me straight on this since you own them.

I am partial to the Deteknix phones as WS4 over the ear alternative to the WS5. You retain the WS4 puck flexibility and features (waterproof, standalone operation, wired Headphone capability) that are missing from the WS5 configuration yet still get a decent looking, sounding, and comfortable feeling set of over the hear headphones that also include a wired input if you want to connect them directly to your control unit.

I only mention this not to dis the treasure phones but because RustyGold mentioned the full ear coverage of the WS5's.

Vferrari,
Yes sir they are "on the ear" type phones. I too was considering the Deteknix(actually bought their small wireless for my wife and she really likes them) but decided to give the Treasure Phones a go. I think I'll most likely also purchase the Deteknix phones for use during winter detecting though and use the TP's for summer when it's just too hot for that type.

Darn it, forgot to get some pics for y'all last night, will try and remember tonight.
