Unfortunately they just renourished Jensen Beach with new sand pumped from offshore. You may have better luck north of there. Try contacting the Treasure Coast Archaeological Society. They have a website and a Facebook page. Tom

Hi,

I live here in Jensen beach. I just started detecting. The recent storms are eroding the beach. I have been there 3 times and found clad each time. Nothing great. I am using a Whites Prizm 4 and getting addicted to this. I will probably try Ft. Pierce next week and see what I come up with there.

I detect that entire stretch of A1A often.
Here is a local tip.
There is an unknown shipwreck somewhere off of Herman's bay beach... also...the way the replenishment sand was put down to it's south has created a good amount of eroding there as well as waves hitting the dunes.
I've found black glass pieces, copper sheathing and one bronze ship spike there in the past.
It's very hard detecting now though because of the amount of steel pipe scale pieces from the pipes that pumped in the sand.
Good luck.
