All types of BFOs owned. Especially want White's Arrow; White's Oremaster; Exanimo Spartan Little Monster; Garrett contract Little Monster.
Spring has sprung and I'm gonna be busy for the next few months so will post a final booklist to get you people going. Since folks seem to love to accuse people of being self serving or promoting their own items I now call on Arkansas Bill? and Popeye to come forward and call me a LIAR if any of the books I've listed were written by me. They both know the title of my main book and have some knowledge of the others.? If you have read most of the books in Treasure Hunting 101 and Treasure Hunting 201 you can consider this list as grad school for your masters. Treasure Hunting 401 will be nothing but some hard won facts then after that we'll open the floor to the visiting professors emeritus and anyone who thinks they have something to add. Obtain and read these books in any order you can find them. I strongly recommend that you try to get them through interlibrary loan first. Nothing hurts worse than paying $50 or more for a book that you don't think is worth the money. If you want your own copy after you have read the books then go for it.
? ?WPA GUIDE TO YOUR STATE - printed in the 1930s and 1940s in an effort by the feds to keep writers from starving to death during the depression. They were sent from state to state to write histories and travel guides. They are very rare and often can not be checked out of the library. Many treasures have been found by checking the places mentioned here. The modern reprints of these books are good to have and worth the money. The modern updated and revised new and improved copies are worthless crap and not worth reading much less buying.
? ?THOMAS P. TERRY TREASURE GUIDE SERIES - GET THE VOLUME FOR YOUR STATE -
I use this information for negative research. Each story I find I seek to see if it is already known or published. If it is then I will only look for it if I obtain new or different information than was published. The known stories that were true have either already been found or the story has placed them in the wrong spot. Terry will also tell you about many ghost towns. He says that any town that no longer has a post office is a ghost town. One close to my home is where I go to buy gas, snacks and lottery tickets. Pretty lively place for a ghost. Must be 500 people living there.
? ? TREASURE GUIDE SERIES? -THOMAS PENFIELD, MICHAEL PAUL HENSON & H. GLENN CARSON
I use these the same way as I use the TERRY books. You should try to own the one for your state. To reiterate, let me make one thing perfectly clear. If you get new information to a known treasure that puts you in the drivers seat. You DO want to pursue it then. Hopefully to a successful conclusion but at least for as long as you have a chance of recovery.
? ? W.C. JAMESON TREASURE BOOKS - various titles - Get the one from your area and use them like you use the books listed above.
? ?THE SECRET LIFE OF MONEY - TEACHING TALES OF SPENDING , RECIEVING, SAVING AND OWING BY TAD CRAWFORD (1994) - You need to read this book for insights into the why of treasures being planted BUT I don't see any need for you to own it. You will also learn the types of people who are compelled to hide money. The book is priced higher than it's worth and I would try to get it through interlibrary loan only.
? ? Here is a three bagger for you. TAX TREASURE HUNTING BY ROBERT C. CARLSON, CPA (1994)
This is basically a free teaser to get you to subscribe to a magazine called TAX WISE. Multiple listings for a dollar and up plus shipping. If you do subscribe they will give you a copy of the book TAX TREASURES by ROBERT C. CARLSON, CPA. The guarantee from the TAX WISE magazine is that you will save at least a thousand bucks each year on your taxes or the magazine is free. Do you think you could afford a new SUPER GIZMO METAL DETECTOR WITH AUTOMATIC OVERDRIVE if you had a spare thousand? He also teaches you how to file amended returns going back three years to make some quick tax free money from the feds and the state.?
? ? Finally this is for those folks who would like to kiss the rat race goodby and spend all their time working for themselves and free to treasure hunt every day. GOT YOUR ATTENTION? These? books are OWLHOOTERS MANUAL I AND OWLHOOTERS MANUAL II BY DEEK GLADSON. They feature the true stories of people like you who lost their jobs and hit the road. The survivors among them flourished. If they can do it from scratch with nothing we can do it starting in our spare time. These are Exanimo Press publications and the extraneous garbage is not there. They average about 50 pages or less each and originally sold for $5 or less each. They've hit the after market now and you can expect to pay $10-20 each plus shipping now. Borrow if you can but once you do you will want your own copies.
? ?These are not every helpful book that's out there but they are all that I intend to publicize. I had my own reasons for doing this and also for doing the TREASURE LEADS - SINCE YOU ASKED posts. None of you owe me a thing. I would hope that some of you will try to help others and keep them out of trouble. We don't need the heat caused by TH-ers breaking laws and creating problems. The powers that be can and will make our work harder if they do. Feel free to share this information with anyone BUT if you publish it I'll bust your chops with every nasty legal trick I can think of. exanimo, ss

Honesty, integrity, intelligence. That's how I would describe my old friend Siegfried. He, Popeye, Dell, Hillbilly Bob,and I, among a few others have been treasure hunting since before most of the folks on this forum were born. It all boils down to the matter of trust. Although we all disagree violently on some things the trust we have in each other is what really counts. As Backwater Jon so aptly put it--they are ones to ride the river with. If you have ever canoed the Rogue River you will understand what he is saying.

I got into a little trouble in Mexico a few years back and was stuck in the middle of nowhere with no transportation. I called George White who lives in Alaska and he came down and rescued me. I kid you not, it is highly probable that I would have died there, my old bones bleaching in the desert sun, -- buzzard food. I could have phoned any one of the above mentioned guys and they would have dropped what they were doing and come down. I find it very disconcerting that some people have the audacity to "bash" these fine folks.

Thanks Bill, We'll take that as "I don't think SS wrote any of those books." If I can't come I can sure as hell call out the marines when a friend needs help. It pays to know the dirt on the politicos. LOL. exanimo, ss

for anyone that is lucky enough to have indian or spanish carvings or markers in their area to help them in their searches but is not quite sure how to decipher,,,,i would reccommend adding this book to ss's list of required reading,,,,,,,,,,""waybill to lost spanish mines and treasures"" by gale r. rhoades,,,,,was put out by dream garden press..salt lake city in 1982......it is out of print but well worth the search,, containing well over 100 {easy} symbols and their associated meanings.....mr. rhoades followed these symbols to various sites, and from the grin on his face in pictures in the book i think i know why the book wasn't reprinted.......no need to say more !! gldhntr
