Treasure Hunter of the Gulf Coast Ron Lord & The Garrett Infinium

One of my trips to Florida I ran into Junklord and his Garrett Infinium. Learned alot from his style of hunting, and his use of a Pi detector. I was so impressed I bought a Infinium. I do believe that the infinium makes a great backup detector to the Excal...It is a excellent machine for the tuff Beach's. While hunting with Ron my excal 1000 {hunting in Discriminate, almetal was worse} could only hit 10 inch's deep on the gulf side, but Ron was digging targets at 18 with the LS. We hit a fresh water lake later {with gators} and the Excal was back to normal, hitting deep. This showed me that different Beach's need different strategies to get the most from every hunt. The two things that stood out the most with Ron was the Ls and it 10x14 mono coil. And Ron is very discipline in his hunting pattern. Hope you enjoy the Vid....Joe/Obn

I use both the Infinium, (for the water), and the Minelab Sovereign, (for wet sand and dry beach). I have often spoken on this forum about the value of both machines and in many cases personal preference. The biggest gripe I see on here in reference to PI machines is always relative to finding junk. Fact is that if you look at every forum on TNET whether it be relic hunting, coin shooting, jewelry hunting, etc., if you are digging junk, you are missing some good stuff.

I like my Minelab Sovereign just fine for beaches but I just could never see using anything else but the PI for in the water. My biggest gripe for the PI is that I often get targets so deep I spend lots of time getting to them.

Excal hunters find lots of stuff too. Again, I think it comes down to personal comfort and likes and dislikes. Still say that I have never met a detector I didn't like, just like some more than others.

Excellent job on the video, OBN. :icon_thumleft:
It was well done, with just the right
amount of hunting technique shown and
good tips for finding the hiding places for
the elusive gold rings. Thanks for sharing.
