Treasure from 500-year-old shipwreck

Wish I could find this kind of pewter in all the antique store I hunt for treasure in. Most the pewter I come by is junk and over priced.

How is it even possible for pewter from a shipwreck to look that good? I don't see how these photos could be the real thing.

Ive dug pewter and it is never in great shape. Possibly salt water is kinder?
