Treasure Divers Guide...Place name question?

John Potter Jr's Treasure Divers Guide refers to Spanish merchant ship as lost on a reef in the San Fernandez Islands in 1632. Is he mistaken and actually referring to the Juan Fernanadez Islands located off the coast of Chile. Or are the Juan Fernandez Islands some thing different entirely and if so... Where are the San Fernandez Islands?
