I found this in the younger trash pit on the land I am searching. It only dates back to the late fifties or so. It is a cellar that has been filled up or the snake pit as I've called it on here before. I was wondering if anyone could help me on an ID of this. I know it looks like a pipe but the long piece doesn't have a hole in it.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. Could be either one of those I guess. The inside does not have any threads in it.

Some questions:
-Is the hole inside the cap threaded?
-Coes the ball looking protrusion on the "handle's" underside look like it's inserted, like it's retractable with a spring inside? Could it be clipped into something?

Can we see a photo of the spot where your thumb is on the pic on the right? I'm thinking window crank. Similar to a fishing reel crank.
