Working a park today with iwannafindsome, old place but it had been hit hard over the years.

My find of the day has to be the kife handles, highly decorated, one side with portraits, the other side with slogans. I did find a similar knife online, a commerative of Boer's...the portraits of Pres. Kruger and General De Wet of Transvaal, South Africa.

Anyone know how old this thing is?

Either way, seriously far from home!

Other items of interest: 1862 Italian coin, '37 merc and a few wheaties. Upper right...railroad flattened coin or something...wrong weight to be US coin, probably a token, then counter stamped 5c after flattening...weird.

Thanks for the link...always cool to find something in the ground that has such a story to tell...

I found ONE web site that suggests this knife was a souvenier of 1904 St. Louis World's Fair...they also had a massive Anglo-Boer War re-enactment. Boer war was 1899-1902.

I love the knife! Way to go.
