Train / Railroad find?

I found quite a few of the single pieces with a hook on one end and a plastic thing that looks like it should light up on the other, but the one in this pic has three connected together.



See the white thing that at the top and the hook at the bottom on this pic. Found these among piles of junk near an abandoned rail line. Sorry for the poor quality pics.



I love railroad stuff and would love to know what these are. Thanks!!!

May be best to post this on a railroad forum - I'm sure there is one out there.. I also hunt an abandoned rail line and i can't even begin to tell you half the stuff we dig out. Lot of it is very old too because the abandon rail line dated from 1860s (civil war) to 1890s... So its all old iron. Good luck with it .
