Trail Marker? Help!

Doing some research here in Colorado since moving here. On the drive up I saw a rock formation that I believe was a trail marker near Walsenburg, which is near the Spanish Peaks and is well known in the books I have on lost mines etc., to have been a location where the Spanish both mined and even built a small fort in the early 1800s. I found this photo while doing some research and I believe it to be a trail marker because of the shape of the doorway in the formation I have pointed out in the picture. This would have been a great location for a marker because it would have blended in so well with the landscape and those who don't know what to look for would have missed it. This was taken just north of the Spanish Peaks a few miles and I am thinking of heading out there this weekend to look around and photo the trail marker (?) that I saw and see this one. Please tell me what you think of this being a real marker.

I am not sure it is a doorway and marker, but if it is what jumped out at me was the fact the part I believe is a doorway was so regular and square across the bottom. I am trying to plan a trip out to this site this weekend.

there might be two trails. At the top of the ridge, I see a face looking left. Pretty big nose and distinguished forehead.

Old Dog was exactly correct ~! [as usual] and
Springfield was exactly in correct [as usual]

here is what Kenworthy in his book Spanish Trail Signs and Monuments [out of print] calls an Entry Marker
the large profile face shows only one Trail is available and since it is a human face, it is showing the way home~! Now on the right side of the photo those marks are all pointing to the right and the way more than likely to the Mine~! however they are too far away to make an accurate diagnoses from so far, if you have some close ups or can get them without too much effort...even a telephoto pic will work.

meanwhile there is also at the foot of the profile face in the center of the gateway marker is what Kenworthy calls a 'beer can' marker,- on page 49 -he says he calls it that because that is what it looks like and I agree...this trail marker is telling you "that you can go around this butte in either side [direction]
the trail is about the same for men and animals" [unless you can find the inverted V - which might point out the better trail after all.

Here is a perfect example that Springfleild has lost ALL credibility as a critic AND as a treasure hunter as he has proved only the last week or two - that is is not really all the skilled at either..so it begs the question...
what is he doing here, and why is he doing it..now several folks are starting to wonder, why are their pics of rock monuments nothing but bored sheep herders or lazy cowboys, stoned hippies, lost search and rescue guys, or that last one, a throwback surveyor who uses old school marks for his waypoints..hmmmmm?
oh last but not least is the catch all 'conglomerate'
My opinion and in exercising my free speech rights, first amendment style, is that he is working as a mouth piece for the Jesuits, and who ever took 'Father' Polzner' place...kinda a 'quid pro quo' deal.. he defends the Mother Church online..acting as a bulwark against the raising force of more and more treasure hunters getting closer to breaking the Spanish Code, as they themselves are working feverously to recover the goods still in the ground..make no mistake about it, I have proof from a treasure hunter that his mentor was working directly with the Church to recover the Church Artifacts, in fact this treasure hunters deal was that he could keep all the bullion and bars he found and all he had to do was to turn over the precious artifacts..so perhaps Steverino has cut the same deal with the added duty to stay online like a knight templar of old and protect the mother church by disinformation, disuading, discouraging, downplaying anything that even looks like a treasure or trail sign...trackers and by that I mean true trackers, those of earnest effort, honest intent, and keen sense of seeng thru the BS, I ask you to think about his look over his last 50 posts [as I am compiling his last 100 post!] and if you do not come to the same conclusion,
I will buy you , your favorite adult beverage!

You know time off, as my enemies - here like to put is, is something they have thrown in my face as though I should be ashamed..well I am not, that time off made this coalesce for me- fate has played a powerful part of my entire endeavor in this pursuit...and I have come to look at what are the meanings, the lessons that one can glean from having to 'pay the price' of pitfalls ,some accidental and like this one 'manmade'
soooooo whats the upshot....mr disinformation tried to 'cook' the books and now has egg on his face.

and yes steve I did enjoy my time off it gave me a fresh perspective of all the 'players' on this site.

I can see how you might think so, comparing you to a knights templar was foolish, no offence to the KT's

But the actions you have displayed over a long period of time,ignoring real true trail markers and signs like this one of mammothman is case in point, classic Kenworthy and everybody even the newbies know it..
and my suppositions are the only thing that answer your rather bizarre behavior, especially for a treasure hunting site, in which you seem to be running a subforum of a treasure denying site- paired with a terminal no clue critic and a sprinkling of pareidoliacs, this motely crew has taken a lot of the enjoyment out this hobby.. I would ask you point blank to curtail this type of behavior immediately...

your operating in the past sir, no more vague references of the code not being real, of the code not being breakable, of having to be "bestowed" the solutions..well that is ancient history now so if I seem over the top it is because your beliefs are left behind.

I dont have to 'sell' my ideas, I give away proof to everyone who wants their site marked and [they number close to 100 in the last 90 days] decoded..just as you did with your bit of trickery in your only thread 'real or memorex' when you got your little site decoded. thanks it's cool I dont feel tricked as I mark all who need the service friend or foe*, pro or newbie...I enjoy the work and it is my giving back in general after spending 25+ years in the pursuit of breaking the Spanish Code...and for the ones who helped me along the way, like your buddy dign aka dign4it..pay forward and pay back all at the same time, life is grand
