Trade token? Coin weight ?

Found this while metal detecting in Georgia, United States.

35 on my nox 700.

28.5 mm diameter. 12 grams. Appears to be pewter with some kind of plating to it which I circled in blue.

Thinking possibly coin weight or trading token.

Any ideas? Thoughts?

Interesting Piece, but it seems rather crude, to be anything more than a fantasy item, I don't think its that old, when you get a piece that is like that pot metal stuff, the older it is the less of it there is...
But cool piece non the less.
