So far the best treasure hunting finds have come from my own back yard including this interesting toy soldier.
He weighs 2 ounces and is 2 inches tall. I looked at several toy soldier sites but I have yet to find one similar to this one,

Can anyone tell me what country he served and what battles he might have fought in?

Hello Cimoncez,

Who you have there is a Barclay (Made in USA) #EB5 "Officer", from what is believed to be the "first batch" of toy soldiers produced by that company, circa 1928-1931. So he is a between-war, peace time soldier, patterned after the WW1 US doughboys. I found him in Richard O'Brien's book, "Collecting Toy Soldiers, An Identification and Value Guide," #2. Where there is one, there may be more, so keep digging the "iffy" signals. Great find! Subterranean

Looks like a British coat and breeches from WW1 and a friggin Zouve hat from the American Civil War!

You are the man. Thank you so much for your wealth of information. Learning the history of found relics is just as thrilling as the find itself.
Bless you.
