My buddy and I got out for a hunt today after the rain finally stopped. I found a few interesting things. Pulled out an interesting toy soldier in the front yard of the home we were hunting.

I found an indian head a few feet from the toy soldier, Unfortunately its corroded right where the date is so I've got it soaking in peroxide hoping its an 1877...:laughing7:...

I worked my way around to the side yard and pulled a nice brass bell up from around 4 inches deep.

Wasn't too great of a day overall but I made a few good finds and I'm looking forward to returning to this home in the future. There's a lot of huntable ground left. We've only scratched the surface. Here's a picture of today's overall finds.

Thanks for looking.....HH!

nice find !! looks and sounds like a great place to hunt ! good luck and beep away !!

That's my second brass bell this year. I found a nice one with Eagle/stars/rays design earlier this year. 017.JPG

Hey Evolution,
Great finds, congratulations! Your lead soldier is listing in my reference material as a Manoil M176 (45/6) Parade (thin) circa November/December 1945. It was issued for a very short time (a year or so,) making it one of the rarer American made soldiers out there. It had a round base with both of his boots on it originally. Hope this helps! Happy Hunting, Sub 8-)

Those are some nice finds.. I agree I would keep pounding that area and see what else I could find.. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware there was a way to date them so accurately. I'm glad its a rare one.

Evolution, nice things you got there. We will be back soon. Turned out to be a great day.

"Wasn't too great of a day"

I don't know about that, a nice complete bell would make it worth it. Old toys are way more scarce than coins IMO.
The piece of pewter spoon handle suggests good age to the place, you could have got almost anything. No doubt more goods will come on your return.
