Hey all. I found this toy plane about 5 years ago. Here lately I been checkin out my finds from way back. I gotta look at this 1 from time to time. It reminds me of when it was no problem to dig past 5 inches. OOh man its been dry here. Gonna be a tough winter for the moo cows. Oh well. I bet we all got a tough times story to tell. I remember when I was digging this I wasnt expecting it to be so big and my digger went crunch through the wing. It was nothing but a rust ball and my cleaning techniques were silly.. That was when I took it to the sand blaster. Poof poof..I think it came out ok considering. I remember after the sand blasting I was like WOW!! I showed it to my gramps that was a navy vet (gb him) and he told me what kind of plane it was. Took him a second. I kinda feel bad it took me that long to forget what he told me. I found it at a homestead site that dates from mid 1920's to mid to late 1930's. I'd like to see what this sucker looked like when it was ready to go on some pretend bombing runs or what not! It still has red paint on it and on some parts u can see white paint. Looks like there might have been a gun bubble on the nose? maybe? And a folded over part on the right side tail. Left side missing. Thanks to all in advance that helps. HH!
