Very cool. The composition is strange -- is that lead coating the iron or is it just dirt encrusted? Would you mind posting the toy soldiers?

Yep. . . forest preserve finds from last year. . . plus a LOT of shotgun shell brass :P
The Boy Scouts must have really had a sweet tooth for Cracker Jack because most
of these were from scout camp areas back in the 1920's. . . also found a lot of utensils
& rusted pocket knives. . . they lost EVERYTHING :D
