Toy Car???

I found this clump of encrusted metal last night and let it soak in CLR for 24 hours. It now has taken shape but I have no idea what it is. I thought it may be an old cast iron car but the design doesn't really make sense and there are no areas where wheels could have been. I'm stumped. Any ideas??? Thanks for looking!

It kind of looks like a flag holder the type nailed to a post in front of a house just a guess.

Looks a lot like a latch type device similar to the type that you use to lock a door from the inside... the little knob you slide over to hold the door shut. Similar to this:

That's kinda what I thought as well but if you look at the ends there is a center divider piece that would prevent a bolt from sliding through the ends. Other than that, it definitely resembles a bolt lock.

That is going to have to be cleaned a lot more in order to get a definitive ID .
