Although a symbolic action,A resolution supporting the preservation of the Second Amendment to the U. S. Constitution was unanimously approved. the council reaffirmed its full support of the constitutionally protected individual right of its citizens to bear arms, including, but not limited to, the right to own and acquire ammunition and other firearm accessories. The resolution also notes the council's opposition to efforts by the federal, state, or other local governments to restrict or infringe upon the right of its citizens to bear arms or own ammunition.

Excellent news Jeff . Thanks for posting ....

bet the band boys...

it is ok to restrict criminals from firearms...except the second amendment says no you can't
it is ok to restrict types of weapons...no autos..no this or that...except the second says you can not infringe...

there are numerous restrictions on firearms none of you even mention, yet ya beat the band as if the whole thing will fall apart if your beliefs are not maintained...

ethnocentric at best.

ethnocentric ? :tongue3: I suppose I could say that about you

just remember this is a "Second Amendment Watchdog Forum".
It is not a debate forum or for those who are against the constitution to make judgements,
on those who wish to protect it.

Loss of gun rights forever depend on if convicted in state or federal court.

The Supreme Court justices have stated that, 'historically, the Second Amendment was meant to apply to the “virtuous.”

Convicted felons are not virtuous. It is possible though to regain your rights through the courts though if state convicted not in federal court..

Non violent state convicted felons can regain gun rights through courts in many different states.... Some even violent offenders can in a few states although much harder.

A federal convicted felon can only regain his gun rights thru presidential pardon.

nothing in the second amendment says criminals can not have guns...if you are a purist...
which, many of you claim...

then any infringement is unconstitutional...

duh..really jeff? a second amendment forum?

allow me to post my pectulars....
I bought my first firearm at 11, rode it home on my Schwinn...the SMLE was taller than I was. 12 dollars with bayonete, sling, an 100 rounds of ammo.
joined the army infantry, expert M-14, expert-60, sharpshooter M-16...
arrest B.A.T.F. 1989, manufacture, transportation and sale of unregistered sub machineguns.
BATF agent approached me with a foot locker full of parts..."can you rebuild these?"

why yes I can...and did...
was sentenced to 4 years at the university, because the judge said my interest in weapons was an obsession...I was facing 14 million dollar fine an 40 years in prison...did you know the point system includes ammo an if it those magazines are loaded?
{it's good to be a non-violent crazy veteran in front of federal judge}
so, three letters after my name, paid for another two...
an I don't like bullies.

Well I do believe you changed your post since last time I swung by here :laughing7:
first off in my opinion "any" infringement "is" unconstitutional.
If you knew me you would have no doubt on that.

Excuse my brain fart at the moment but Maybe it's the time of morning & not enough coffee yet, however, your story of your life Confuses me a little.
sentenced to 4 years at the university ? is university a euphemism for prison in this case,
or was sentenced a euphemism for being Hired ?

I hope the latter . Sad to think a BATF agent would set you up
for being good at something :(

on the "I don't like bullies" comment, me either, but it's probably a requirement
to be a Judge or atf agent.

Personally in Life I always took/take the side of the underdog,
& Mistrusted the Victor

It's very dramatic when two people come together to work something out. It's easy to take a gun and annihilate your opposition, but what is really exciting to me is to see people with differing views come together and finally respect each other.”
