So today I was hunting in a virgin totlot :headbang: and something great happened..I hit a strong signal smack in the middle of the playground and it was a jar full of quarters :notworthy: all clad. anyone else get lucky like this? my first glory hole :hello2: This is why I only hunt virgin totlots, totally scored!

A much better hunt than last weekend when it was wet and I didn't have protection for my hands, now I always wear rubbers. However, don't get the ones they sell at Harbor Freight, they break too easily.

Happy Hunting

interesting find. maybe some kid decided to play pirates and forgot to make a map.

Dano,

Just one little problem there. How do you know its a "virgin" tot lot? Someone could have been there a month or week prior and you'd never know it.

Congrats on your find, but it may have happened simply because you swung your coil over the right place and no one else did, or else ignored the signal thinking it was junk.

And yes, using a good pair of rubbers is always a good idea in virgin territory. :laughing7:

while mding a tot lot last week laying in one of the swings was a like new i pod and it works great and its my third this year. dont use them but left a short note on the chain of the swing with a phone number with no responce o well

Congrats. I hunted a virgin totlot about three weeks ago and I found 37 quarters and three rings. Two other guys hunting with me found rings and lots of quarters as well. Even found a couple wheat pennies.

You must think if you never hunted it before it must be virgin. It is possible someone hunted it with disc set to reject pull tabs or used a cheapo detector.

Finding a jar full of quarters in a tot lot is very unusual. Savor the moment, it will probably never happen again. Still an awesome find ! :icon_thumleft:

Virgin tot lots do exist! About 5 years ago I took out a little $35.00 in change out of one. Out of that huge pile were 101 quarters!

Now when you say TOT LOT do you mean where the kiddies play? sand box? or the hole park? :o
That's a lot of Quarters
