I wonder if that could be the bolt hole escutcheon off of an old Victorian poster bed?

Hepplewhite escutcheon plate. Just like the drawer pulls, but drilled for escutcheon pins, not a pull handle.

How about the top for an old lamp wick machanism?

Kind of looks like the end of a spring loaded window blind but not quite.One end had a hole and other had slot but with a opened end. Went flap,flap,flap if you let it go .
