Tooth, but from what?

My girlfriend and i found this tooth, on one of the shores in Erie, PA.
We know its a tooth and we are almost positive it does not belong to a fish.

I have asked around few people here, and showed them the tooth, but no one is sure what it is.

Does anyone have any ideas, we are really curious about this find.

My guess would be bone not tooth, because of holes.

I agree...Definitely not a tooth but a piece of bone. You have a pic of the other side? I would bet the other side looks spongy. If so it would be a clean cut portion of a larger bone.

Thats exactly what it is!!!!I have seen many of them.I used to soak deer hooves to get the outside to slip from the piece you have and make rattles from the hooves....sold em to tourists
