Hello folks,
Am still trying to come up with a good carry devise for my TH tools.
Have tried a bunch but am not satisfied.
The MOLLIE/fishermans vest thing is OK but everthing is in the back. (and I don't want to spend $80.)
Belly pack worn backwards is what I have now but my belly gets in the way and it slips down unless I tighten it so it hurts.
(OK I am getting larger there than I once was.) LOL
I like a suspenders type of thing that I can put on and take off in under a minute.
In and out of a vehicle - grab it and go, take it off and go.
Have to carry Lesche and pinpointer in front for easy access.
Digger needs sheath with Velcro strap at bottom like the old 6 guns so is easy to draw and put away.
Pinpointer sheath on other side would work too. Both in front.
Trash could go in back of a fishing type vest and goodies in front pockets.
Of course front needs to be open for access to cell phone, smokes and firearm (for bad things).
Maybe a fishing vest or a denim shirt with long, almost knee length things added in front?
Split in the sides a little below the arm holes for access to regular clothing?
(I won't go into the needed trailer to haul a lawyer around.) LOL

Any thoughts?

Skillers web site is down right now, but looks like good products.

My advice would be--look for a vest that has the storage space you need in the front. If you are willing to spend a few bucks, it will be worthwhile for you--and it will never wear out. But if you are willing to wait until the right deal comes along in a second hand store, the results may be just as good and less expensive. I know that you need something now, but it might be worth considering buying something cheap to fill your needs until something better comes along. A vest will change your world. I couldn't do without mine. I posted a photo of it here:

I carry all my stuff in this:

Montanna Jim -
I tried that but when I put it behind me it choked me.
Then when I put it in front, I couldn't see my MD.
Maybe I shouldn't wear it around my neck?
It was a very handy thing to sit on though.

when I used to hunt land, I had a "photographer's" vest. Usually they're khaki, with a ton of pockets, all in the front, and a larger one at the small of the back.

If you're looking for a MOLLE style vest, try ebay - they sell tons of that style for the airsoft crowd, and they're about 1/2 what you'd pay for a police style vest... and the quality's about the same. your other option for that style (on the cheap) is to try cheaperthandirt, or the sportsmansguide. or... the old standby, a local army-navy store.

good luck

Here is one similar to the one I use:

I'd pay more than that for a good pair of waterproof boots, and the vest is just as essential to me as the shoes are. :) I usually leave mine unfastened in the front so that I have access to my clothing. Works great.

Best Wishes,

Check out army surplus stores. They have all kinds of vests, straps, belts, holsters, I'll bet you could customize something to fit your needs.

This is what I use. My pin pointer attaches also but, not pictured.
