I was able to get out this AM for a couple hours. Went back to the old soccer field in hopes to score an old nickel and just hunt nickel signals in general.

I had to take a nature calling break along the woods on the side of the field and decided to just make a pass along the edge of the field. about 20ft in I get a slamming high tone and I did a little coil lift suspecting aluminum can. The signal was loud but tight. I decided to dig. When I flipped the plug over there was a 1941 Walking liberty half dollar staring right back at me! This beauty was only 2-3 inches deep! Went along the edge a little further and bang, a dead silver dime signal. Sure enough it was a 1953 silver Rosie. Another 20ft and I get a somewhat jumpy high tone but it was definitely something that needed to be looked at. About 4 inches down was a 1964 GW quarter. The next nice signal was a solid silver quarter response and it ended up being just that.....a 1939 GW. Last but not least, about 2ft away from the 39 GW I get a beautiful high tone that screamed big silver! After folding back a plug and taking a scoop out......a 1940 Standing liberty half! Seriously? Two in one hunt? whoohoo! These were my first silver halves of the year and I couldn't be happier, and more shocked than anything.

I was also able to meet up with forum member Sgoss66 while he was back home and hunt a city park Saturday AM. He did well with a couple silver dimes and an IHP along with some wheats. I managed a 1905 IHP and a 1927 Buff. and the usual Wheaties as well.

Also dug my first silver foreign coin last evening at a park I've been to numerous times. A 1942 Netherlands 10c coin. Finds from yesterday.
