Took the Plunge!

I have been lurking for a while on this forum. I placed an order with my local community bank today for two boxes of halves. This will be my fist experience with coin roll hunting. I am hoping for a little beginners luck! I will post the results, the boxes should be here by Thursday.

Yes, a great tip, I asked if they had any when I ordered the boxes and they did not have any in the bank. I have going to check some other banks to see if I can pick up some customer roles. Thanks.

Hope your boxes are loaded with silver. My luck has been poor with boxes. I just picked up a box from a bank that I have never picked up from. Hoping to find at least 1 silver. Hell, I'll take a proof in decent condition at this point.

Nice! my first 10 boxes I got nada..It was about the 11th box that I got a 40%...

You won't get all his dumps, but you might have some. Clearly the silver is still being pulled in NJ.

So I searched the first box tonight. Very happy with my results! One 1963 Franklin and Three 40% coins - 1967,1968,1969. I hope the next box yields the same type of results. I will let you know.

The results of the second box are in! The second was better than the first! Two Walking Liberty 1943 & 1944, One 1958 Franklin, One 1964 Kennedy, Two 40% 1967 and 1969.

Totals for 2 Boxes

5 90%
5 40%

I just ordered another 2 boxes from the same bank. I will start a new thread with the results. I would be happy with a repeat of the first boxes. Something tells me that my prior results were atypical.

Also just took the plunge and ordered my first box (from a local branch of a very large bank). The box came in last Thursday and I was completely skunked. I will order more boxes, but wish I had better luck to get me started.

Folks may be reluctant to share their CRH secrets, but would love to hear any tips that might increase my chances of getting a better box.

With silver halves discontinued so long ago and all the hunting folks are doing I am surprised that people are finding anything, but there seem to be a lot of people finding keepers. So, I'll keep trying for a while. Doesn't cost anything but time.
