At least that is what I thought when my fingers brushed the top of that water fuel separator.
It was sanded all but edges...
I paused... looked close... then I went to grab it... and realized it was attached...
It was like a cruel joke.
Here is my first ever post with pic of my finds in 35 years of detecting... gotta get with the times here... I know the pic sucks but I had to tell the story and show the pic.
Girl found the skulls and mask.
I actually used my Go PRO first time videoing me dig... that coke can... may post.

I always find stuff... This is my first "pic post" is all... wish I could "show off" some better finds for my first time taking a pic of the days finds but hey.
Besides I have hunted out that particular area so much that I have to use pinpoint or go bored.
I have picked that beach clean of really good stuff... last time I was there I actually did find 1 sterling with pearl ring my girl wears all the time...
Must have missed that one last year...:)
Guess I could take pics of the years take. hmmm

That does look somewhat like a gold cob in a marine clump at first glance! lol

Love the Coke can!

I know your pain.I found a brass 1776 Continental Dollar at a home site awhile back, patina looked reasonable, and in great shape, only to get it home and see "copy" stamped in the middle.I came down from that high real fast.

Cross.... the only part viz was the very top part of that ... and there was sand around and sand on top a little... all you could see was the top rim edges... I mean I am dying that I did not take a pic of it in the hole but that was the farthest thing in my mind at that moment... I was even trying to reach in real slow as to not bury back in... you can imagine when I went to pick and it was stuck.. heh

I am the soda can King. Hey, at least it gets us out of the house and down on our knees !!

Heh I was just looking back at some old threads of mine...
I never did post the coins from that day.
sheesh I am a space cadet when it comes to remembering posts.

Man this hobby can be cruel at times lol. It can also reveal things you never thought were great when you first dug em. Id love to see some of your finds my man. Got a feeling you may have some real gems hidden up your sleeve

I have found a thing or two :)

Your misleading title reminds me of my "found two gold coins" post that was actually two crusty old garter clips with the words "gold coin" stamped into them haha. I guess this was payback haha!

Hope the next one is the real deal.

Nice to see your post up! I enjoy your posts around the other areas of t-net. Thanks for sharing and keep digging with them loved ones!
