I wanted to post a long story and make this really cool. But putting together this video zapped the will power to do any more than the bare minimum 15 pieces of flare. In the morning I scored a 1941-P Wheatie, and in the afternoon I got a fork, a knife, a clad dime, a clad quarter, and then another wheatie (not sure on it's date yet), and then I got my first Freddie! Check out the video:
Yeah I gave her a little love tap with my Lesche... but that mother was hard to pinpoint in a sea full of trash over there. To give you some idea, my 6" Detech Excelerater coil only was able to barely hear a decent penny/dime tone in ONE particular angle and if I twisted it just a little either way it was gone. I don't even know how I found it, but I was going over the ground slow with my coil like I was reading the fine print with a magnifying glass so that might have something to do with it. My dad's dime was loud and clear all the way around with my coil, but with his 6x10 DD Eliptical he could only get it one way as well.
All that hiking around through the woods without silver and it was right across the street! LOL.
We REALLY wanted to stay longer once we found those silvers.
Thanks again everyone for a great time! Hope you see you guys out there again sometime.
EDIT: OK, now that I've rested... I have the energy to share Saturday's find of the day. My 3rd silver ring for the year.
Found the ring in a park that my Dad and Brother and I hit Saturday evening. We were already a little wiped out from finding diddlysquat at an older-than-God farm house. It was time to go cherry pickin'! So we hit up my favorite little lunch break park and collectively pulled over $21 out of there! My dad had 31 quarters, and my brother and I tied for 15 quarters each. We all had about $2 in dimes. I got lucky and found the ring going slow with my new 6" detech coil. It rang up quarter and boy did it feel good not getting a quarter just then. This would be my first two-silver weekend.
