Will banks take this as legal tender? Swap it for new....like a worn dollar bill? They add up after awhile.....lol

I always put mine in the trash bucket....But good question, I have always wondered too but wouldn't have the nerve to plop a sack full on the bank counter expecting face value or even a nod once they take a peek at the mess I had collected for them.

It’s my understanding that banks are tasked with removing worn currency from circulation, so given that you have more than 51% of it I’d bet they would give you a shiny new penny for it.
