Hi all, I found this artifact at a site where a dwelling built about 1810 once stood. Found all kinds of coins, pottery sherds, buttons, etc. dating between the late 1700s to mid-1800s nearby. Initially I thought it a good luck charm as 2" long & 1/8" thick seems too small/thin for a pony shoe. It also seems too rounded for heel plate. Also considered a strike-a-light, but they usually they don't have holes and aren't that rounded. Thoughts?

Maybe a shoe for a miniature pony. Some small ponies pulled carts and were shoed.
Just a guess, however the holes do not seem right.

Blackfoot58, thanks again. I agree that looking at pony shoes before posting, typically they had more holes in a different pattern. Still in 20 minutes I didn't see them all...
