I may have mentioned in the past that I had leads on several good spots to treasure hunt. The long gone site of the cabin my Grandfather was born in, the old homesite of my Great Great Great Grandfather, etc... I did my research the old fashioned way...I asked my Granddaddy to ride around with me last weekend.

He took me to lots of places but the undergrowth was so thick and tall that we couldn't even leave the roadside. We'll have to wait until after the first "killing frost" until we can reach some of these places. They'll still be difficult, but at least the greenery will be gone and we can see the snakes.

The good news is that I got to spend alot of quality time with my 87 year old grandfather.

hey make yourself a crop circle device and flatten that stuff right down while grandpa does the beeping behind ya! Crop Circle device consists of a 2x4 with a length of rope attached thru drilled holes on either end. Then you just lean it up against the overgrown grass and weeds and plant it down and so on... good luck and ask grandpa where he used to party/swim/fairgrounds/fireworks displays/ballparks/ concession stands/ old unused roads or places where houses used to stand. older folks are a wealth of information...

I also live in Alabama as you know so I know u have all these items avaliable at the local store get your truck put a 12 in. lift on it mudding tires and jerry rig a big ass piece of metal on the front like a blow and bush hog the whole thing!
