Tonopah Neveda

I am going through Nevada this weekend, planning on visiting area 51, warm springs, tonopah, and another ghost town. My question is what is this Tonopah dump that people find relics is, is it like a real dump that smells bad and stuff, or an old mining dump?

PS: There are two other types of dumps in the Tonopah area; one is the mine dumps and the other is the sanitary (think: RV relief stations) dumps. So when you're in the area, be specific as to which type of dump site you are asking for directions.
