TomTom'ed Arkie Land Out of a Gold Bracelet

after a few glitches.

I use my TomTom GPS ta find diggin spots sometimes.
Taday I headed up I-30 past Toad Suck and turned on
my TomTom. I pushed "Points of Interest Near Me",,,,,
then I pushed "Parks and Recreation" and headed to
where TomTom said go.

I ended up at The Lester Flatt Commemorative Park.

Turns out, that's just an old run down private park at a
man made lake.

It's now just a hillbilly RV park.

It had a little swim beach, but no one was there, so I
cranked up TomTom again.

I kept passin intrestin spots like this one...

Private property, No Trespassing!

Then, TomTom took me to this place,

3-26-4.jpg

It was wet and soggy, and tha tot lot had one foot of
brand new wood chips!!!

3-26-5.jpg

So I TomTom'ed to this one,

3-26-6.jpg

It was a flery of activity, and they were replacing tha
wood chips as kids played in them.

Oh No!!! I thought. What next?????

Well, Next was a nice little neighborhood park.

3-26-7.jpg

Tha tot lot still had tha old wood chips, thank goodness!

I hunted about an hour and a half before I struck gold.

I also found a silver ear ring, a couple other ear rings
and some other bangles and doo-dads.

I'm not sure what this thang is, but it looks neat.

Here's tha back,

Nice job on the gold. I'll have to try that GPS trick. Maybe next vacation.

The Fleur de Lis that has 'express' on it maybe from some clothing from the women's clothing store Express.

Nice finds again tabdog! Congratulations.

Re: You mean you never heard of Toad Suck???

Toad Suck, maybe it's on I-40, I cain't remember???
But there's an exit for Toad Suck Park just south
of Conway, AR.

3-26-14.jpg

Toad Suck Ferry used ta be tha only way ta get
across tha Arkansas River around Conway, AR.

12-12-10-1.jpg

My Brother was married on that ferry as it was
crossing tha Arkie River.

In tha 1960's they took it out when the Corp of
Engineers made tha Arkansas River navatable and
put in a lock and dam.

12-12-2-1.jpg

That anchor would-a sunk tha ferry!!!!!

This is where tha ferry was,

12-12-3-1.jpg

Here's tha bridge over tha lock and dam.

12-12-4-1.jpg

Here's where tha old road ran down to tha ferry,

12-12-7-1.jpg

It is historical.

Here's toad races thay have at Toad Suck Days
in Conway, AR every year.

3-26-15.jpg

No one knows why it's called Toad Suck, but I can
tell you that Arkie's have been lickin toads for a
long time as a recreational drug.

OH!, That's a presidential dollar in tha pic.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog
