That looks to me like a colonial flat button or dandy, but it doesn't look like tombac to me. That being said I am no expert of colonial buttons.

I'd rather find buttons over most coins. NOT the valuable ones of course!!!
 

I like buttons better also, with the exception of pre 1780 coins. Which I seldom find.
 

Nope, it's a Dandy Button as others have stated - 1750-80.
 

Nice button! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: I love digging buttons then researching and finding out what they are and when they were made.
