I think he means to sell it it -- as in how much can I sell it for price range wize. (today) florida used to be big in the naval stores bussiness when ships were made of wood -- --floridas vast pine and oak forest made pitch --ship timbers for mast --and other products needed by wooden vessels -- the iron ship / steam age and the thinning of the forest killed the bussiness over time.

In the "Journal of the Congress of the Confederate States of America, Page 174, June 7, 1864"....

R.K. Taylor, of Florida, to be First Lieutenant Company E, First Florida Calvary Regiment (no material in the regiment fit for promotion), to rank from August 6, 1863.

Any connection? Not sure...yet...

No luck on finding this token, either through google or newspaper research! :tard:

This is unlisted in the standard reference "Florida Trade Tokens" by CR Clark, 1980. One token is listed for the town, a similar piece: "Monroe and Company/Naval Stores/Steinhatchee/Fla.//GF25IM"

Clark gives the Monroe piece a Rarity-6 rating, 1-5 known. While it is hard to say what any specific FL token will bring, it is semi-cute, a small town and in good condition, so it should be of interest to a number of collectors.
