s GDS.. Nothing on reverse.

It might be a token from DGS grocery. A chain of grocery stores along the east coast started in early 1900's. ???dgs.jpg

The DGS, District Grocery Society, mentioned above started in 1921/22. I don't know if it effects it's eligibility to be the right attribution for this token (not knowing enough about tokens).
Regardless, it brings up the valid point that the letters could be read in that order.
I'd earlier tried to find token listings from a D??? General Store in Rhode Island, with no luck.

No, nothing on either one. They are in good shape so i dont believe there was ever anything else on the reverse. I would think if they were intended for a store of some sort they would have had what the value of the token was worth. 5 cents, 10 cents etc... It does seem very possible they came from that chain of stores. thanks for the replies and help so far.

It was just a thought. I had found a token similiar to this one, a Red Front token, still unidentified from era/region. (But I did find out it was a grocery/mercantile token..lol)
