Maybe someone with more knowledge of colonial coins will be able to help, if it is colonial, it would most likely be a reale.

I don't know that it's colonial. Location has yielded early to present day finds.

Spanish cob forum have posed the question whether the disc could be pewter/tin?

My detector gives a V.D.I. number reading of +94, +95, which according to the chart is identified as silver. I don't see pewter/tin listed on that chart. Does anyone know where on the scale pewter/tin would ring up?

Checked the detector reading with what I believe is part of a pewter spoon (reading in +25+28 range).

Tested the metal and it's not silver :-[

Based my RR flat coin count this year I should know this is not one :D

It is magnetic and is testing iron/steel (Always use a good strong magnet for testing :sign13:).

Found a similar piece on the road and suspect the pitted look may be related.

Green check on White's dollar
