I found this today among other things and am not quite sure what it is its a bit bigger than a large cent, and is not made of silver but some what appears to be silver wash is visable it rang up as a penny signal strong 55-60 VDI. You can see some of the letters on the top and bottom:

Top: ????SAHE????

Bottom: ????CANTON????

The back appears to be blank besides some kind of bumps maybe like grapes or somethings. Any ideas or how to clean it?

The top pic seems to show a number "5" just above Canton (a 'good for 5 cent' token, perhaps). At the top of that pic, I'm reading "Cafe", then at the 3 o'clock position the letters CO, as in Company. There was a Cape Transit Co. in Canton, but I believe those tokens had holes in them.

I tried playing with levels and inverting the image to see if I could bring out any more text. I placed some red dots next to what look like less obvious letters.

I cleaned it a bit more and can see "Canton" on the bottom, "safe" on the top, a few letters in the middle of the item, "co" at 3 oclock and "co" at 5 oclock

Yep thats what that is that explains why there is nothing on the back and the words match perfectly. Now I know about how that site is finally, I have found 36 wheaties,17 indians and one walking liberty there, but there should be some older silver somewhere. Thanks for the Great ID
