Today's Two Boxes Plus.........
I picked up my normal Thursday boxes at noon. One was dated 06/07 and the other was undated. I couldn't stand the anticipation of the 06/07 box so I pulled into a parking lot and check both boxes. Both boxes yielded 58 keepers with 3 Franklin's and a 76-S silver.
Back at the office, I called a bank close to my dump bank to see if they had any halves. She could only turn loose of 20 rolls. She had 24 rolls but had to keep four for customers. The lobby closed at 2:00 but she said I could go to the drive up window. I thought I had already hit this bank early on in my CRH'ing but I must have went there when the lobby was closed and left to hit it another day. That has happened a few times to me.
I went to my dump bank...cashed out and then went the 1/4 mile to this other bank. While at the window I saw the teller bring out two trays. Some of the wrappers looked old. She put the 20 rolls in a paper bad and then doubled the bag. I grabbed the top of the bad and lifted it out of the drawer at the window and the bottom fell out. A few rolls busted and coins spewed everywhere, but I heard silver!! Five rolls had "silver" written on them in pencil. I don't know why a teller lets these rolls go unless it just a lack of interest.....she was kinda young. But then they didn't snatch these up when they were brought in either.
I backed up and picked up all these loose coins and rolls off of the ground. When I pulled back up to the window, I asked her if I could exchange four rolls for the other four she had which was okay so I hurried up and checked four rolls until I had four rolls of clad and then exchanged. The four extra rolls produced not a keeper, but at least I tried.
