Today's trip

So I actually met up with someone from the forum, Slow Sweeper. we went out today and had a great time! The weather was a little on the cold side (42 degrees) but we hung in there and got in a couple hours. I dug about 12 coins, and an axe head, some square nails, and of course, miscellaneous trash. Slow did about the same.

The area we were in is an old park nearby that I believe was an old watering hole on the Applegate trail here in Oregon. I once found an 1857 seated liberty dime in this park, and a couple indians, and a buffalo. The park has been hit pretty hard, but there were still some goodies in the ground along with a bunch of iron targets. all in all, it was a good day! We made plans to hit an old schoolhouse out near his farm, when we can locate it.

Anybody else met up with someone off this site?

Re: Today's trip

Sounds like a great time! Slow and I knew eachother growing up in Wyo. I met him on the board by coincidence a short time ago...small world. Good luck finding the schoolhouse and HH!

Re: Today's trip

And it didn't even rain on us. ;D
Hey Beep Goes On, maybe sometime next fall I just might have to come down there and get reacquainted and do a little beach detecting. Think we'd survive? :D :D :D

Re: Today's trip

That would be great!..and we'd survive as long as we stayed away from snowmachinin' ;);D I've been researching some ghost towns along the railroad tracks down here...I want to hit one this weekend...I guess it was called "Esperanza". It might be a long walk...need to find some good satellite or arial pics and/or old maps...

Needless to say, you're welcome anytime. If I ever get up that way, for instance, to see Brett, we'll have to hook up.
