Todays treasure 😆 xx

Had a drive round this morning as we couldnt decide where to go.. and spotted a newly disked batch of fields.. 😆.. now these fields are in the same area as the fields i found thd saxon clothes fastener and silver romans.. so no brainer we had to give em a try!! Oh yes.. loads of iron signals everywhere.. but not a huge amount of lead… and few bits of pottery scattered about…

Himself was made up when he found this complete Fibula.. she is tiny just 2cm wide/long.. but complete.. think i may of seen a tear in his eye.. he does so love anything Roman…!! I found this ring.. gorgeous complete buckle 2 tiny buckles, 3 random pieces, lovely edge of plate, part of spoon, then a lock cover and a piece he thinks is an aeroplane… (?) .. lead disk, weight and big round ball (much bigger than the muskets) little patterned piece, then a weird iron piece and a nail, 3 pretty buttons, more buttons, 2 George 1st half pennys and another disk that could be a coin 😆 xx

Intact fibula...not sure I've noticed any such in the few pictures of recoveries.
Interesting it's not just a straight pin.

No its our first… so super happy that she survived the plow for over 1,000 years and we got to save her xx

Now I keep thinking about this piece and it sure looks like a certain era.

Little update on the buckles…

The rectangular buckle is a C.14-early C.15th style.

The little square are C.13-14th strap loops

The other piece is a post medieval mount, probably for horse harness, C.16-17th
