russau was joking ... I LOL'd ... your "take" is pretty small.

We all have those days and areas that produce minuscule results, like the girls and I, our "take" yesterday for 8+ hours of pick and shovel labor wouldn't buy a cup of 1940's coffee

Yep , I was referring to the amount of gold you got. I've had many days like that also ! NOT that I was ever at the location you were ,where ever that is !:laughing7:

This is average some visit’s produce more some less. The Vt. Sluce box season runs from July 1 through October 1 it adds up in the end. This is just over 3 Gm from last season hopefully I’ll bubble it this one?

Today’s take on the rock
In the 802

Any gold is good gold in my book, and like you say it adds up, sometimes it even adds up to a night out in town :icon_thumleft:

Just a dumb question, but why do you keep the gold in a vial with water in it?Genuine query, not a smart ass remark.I,ve seen several vials similar to that displayed in various media and always wondered why the water?

A water filled vial tends to magnify the contents. His vial has an air bubble....cap the vial while submerged to eliminate the bubble.

When I got on the forum today I thought maybe the other "Today's take" thread had been resurrected. A good one IF the search function decides to let you find it. It never seems to show me to what I am looking for.

Either way, good to see someone is getting some gold.

I did but there’s soluble air in tap water so even though it’s caped under water in time a bubble still forms
