Today's stuff....plus some ID help, please!

Met up with HalfDime again to head down to his cousin's house. First thing I pulled was this sterling silver pin/pendant of some kind. My guess is that it has some military origin, or possibly Boy Scouts? Have no idea really. Here's the closeup:

Found some coins in the yard and some other stuff throughout the day. The set of keys has a Beaver County, PA tag on it from 1976. Looks just like a dog tag, with a number stamped on it. Not sure why it would be with a set of keys though. That came from a park field. The '500' is chrome and looks to be possibly a badge from a vehicle? Have no idea though. The large disk I don't know about either. Has lines running across it though. Possibly the back plate to an old watch. Here's the assortment of digs:

I'd love some help trying to ID that rifle pin, though.

Cherish that badge, someone literally had to see hell to get it.

The badge is actually a Combat Infantry Badge

The Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) is an award of the United States Army which is presented to those officers, warrant officers and enlisted soldiers, in the grade of Colonel and below, who participate in active ground combat while assigned as a member of an infantry or special forces unit, brigade or smaller size, during any period subsequent to December 6, 1941.
"Personally present and under hostile fire while serving in an assigned infantry or special forces primary duty, in a unit actively engaged in ground combat with the enemy."

Wow. I had no idea it had that kind of history behind it.

Re: Today's stuff....plus some ID help, please!

I know alot about military pins since I was in the Army, and other questions feel free to ask. I hope you hold onto that and think about who might have worn it, and what they have seen. Might be from Vietman, Korea, or as early as WW2.

Notice the date: "subsequent to December 6, 1941". You know what was the day after dont you? I will give you a hint, it's a day that will live in infamy.

Yes. The day of the Attack on Pearl Harbor, for those who may not know. It was still another 40 years until I was born.
