Today's new CW campsite finds.
We finally got together to hunt a new campsite that we got permission to hunt. I was thinking it was going to be a small field but boy was I wrong. There has to be at least 500 acres and most of it is open fields that gets tilled each year. Big break from hunting the woods of our other camp. Today I met up with Sham (Shamborelics) and Guy (Tnrelicman) to get an early start today. Our fourth member Mike (Woodland Detectors) had to cancel at the last minute and we really did miss hunting with him. My very first hole I dug was a nice 3 ringer. Within minutes all three of us had found bullets. Some parts of the field was very nice dirt but other parts was that wet Tennessee clay and made digging very tiring. We could only hunt part of the day and we all had some good finds. As we was leaving we met up with another hunter, whom I know very well, that has permission to hunt there as well. We had a very nice conversation with him before we left. My finds for the short hunt today was two drop 3 ringers, one fired 3 ringer, part of a brass shell casing (Sharps?), two buckles most likely for harness. And a beautiful brass saddle piece with a very nice green patina. Also found some odds and ends most likely scrap.
