Today’s Mixed Bag xx

Today for a change we went to the fields next to the canal!

Tons of big iron, and a few random modern coins… and an American Cent! Some musket balls, buttons, spoons, and a medal, cat brooch and part of a toy gun… all in all a very mixed bag! 😂 xx

It made a nice change from beating the stubble😆 but hopefully the ploughing will be done so we can head back there tomoz! 😆 xx

Took some pics of the canal lock and bridge to make up for the lack of exciting finds 😆 xx

Is that a narrow boat canal? Dumb question, but are they One Way? I can’t imagine how 2 boats could meet going opposite directions. Cool finds. I’m taking my 10 year old granddaughter out detecting this afternoon, for the first time. Wish us luck. I hope we find anything. Even a Lincoln penny! LOL

They are 2 way, the locks are narrow, but before and after the canal widens. It’s no longer used, but in its day it must have been awesome!

Yes i think its a moose🤔 and its a peacock on the livery button (Manners Family) xx ahh think u, hopefully the plough will have turned up more treasure fof us to find 😆 xx

We found 22 various nails; not my goal. She was thrilled at how it worked and the unknown factor each time we started digging. I think we’ll go again. I let her operate the new pinpointer.
