I scouted out a new site today, farm homesite from late 1800's. Raining and muddy and the site was fully over grown, but was able to swing over some targets.

The 1920 dog tag license from Butler County (I can barely make this out on bottom) is by far my oldest dog tag license, previous ones were aluminum from the 60's.

The spoon is stamped Oxford Silver Plated, quick googling showed this from 1901-1910, sounds about the right period. Also, I have found several silver plated spoons unusually bent and with the tip slightly deformed. I also find lots of lead blobs around these areas and wondered if they sacrificed a spoon to use as a tool for working with lead?

Any help with ID on the other items, especially the pendant is appreciated. It appears to be fairly crudely made, painted brass. Is the lead item a bullet?

Good luck out there!

NICE early tag !!!! I was just up there in butler cty putting in a pipeline, took the detector but never had time to swing it. I was really disappointed, lots of cool history there. CONGRATZ..

Sweet. Anything with a date is awesome wonder what kind of dog it was?

The breed of the dog should be listed on the reverse of the tag, right below the mint mark. lol
