Met up with Jon today and we took a short 2 hour car ride down to Washington Park. The traffic was unbelievable. Usually its only a 25 min. ride but I digress.
When we got there I turned my detector on and by the 3rd swing I got a really nice signal. Popped the plug and stuck my pinpointer in the hole and pulled out a 1920 wheat. I'm thinking alright, starting off on the right foot. Stick the pinpointer back in the hole to make sure its clean, still getting a signal. After fishing around I pulled another wheat. 1919. Check the hole again, out pops a 1916 Buff, then a 1907 IH, and last but certainly not least, the finest Mercs(1920) I have ever seen. The detail is unbelievable. See for yourself!
After gorging myself on the pocket spill, the finds were sparse. A few wheats here and there, some clad, another pouch of wino caps and Jon was skunked on silver. We packed it up and had lunch, then drove around checking out some other parks in the area but due to the time of day, they weren't the best places to be. Jon suggested a grove that used to be a location of a house. It was on the way back so we headed over. Both of us started swinging in the open area where the house used to be and made our way into the small wooded area that would have been on the side of the house. About 15 minutes in I hear Jon calling my name. As I am walking over I asked him what he got, and the look on his face told me he had just found the long awaited seated he has been searching for! Way to go bud. You can read his post for more info on this stellar find.

We searched around for another 45 minutes or so and I got a few more wheats and some clad. I was trying to make my way over to the backyard area but was being coil blocked by a band of drunk serenading hermanos. I have a feeling that where they were camping out there is more to be found there. We will be back there soon.
All in all a fantasic day of hunting. I started off the day on fire, and Jon ended it with a bang.
