Finally got a chance to hit the creek, so we explored a new section. Happy with what we found. I believe the one piece is a hand ax?

That is some nice stuff:thumbsup:you will find a banner one day in the area you are in. From the photo of your little girl you have some great looking creeks.

I hate seeing broken artifacts. But that is usually how mine look. My ratio is about 25 brokes to every whole and then the whole one still shows some dings.

What is really nice is the material and the find workmanship. The whole ones you find are going to be pretty. Congratulations on your daughters first find. You guys had a fun day!

Thanks! This was a new section of creek. We plan to go back and hit it hard. I marked it on my gps that way I could go back and look at topography. All this was surface finds that came from a dry bed. There is a huge field above it. Need to track down who owns it and see if we can get permission to hunt it! It's in an awesome area. I'd live there if I was an Indian :)

I believe the broken base is repurposed. The break isn't clean, seems worked. My heart broke on that broken tip. Wonder what it would have been? It's really thin and has bevels on each side. The work is really pretty. Glad we found them when we did. Supposed to get rain this afternoon and all day tomorrow.

Show the other side of the broken back half please?

Looks like it was broke and re-made into a scrapper. I'd consider that a whole relic worth displaying.

I think it looks like a repurposed scraper of some sort too. Either wah, those are some nice pieces. What kind of material is it?

Yeah and everything else like agate is quartz, lol
