Went out for about 2 1/2 hours today and decided to dig a bottle dump in the city as the poison ivy is in FULL THROTTLE out in the woods around here. We were probing down to find the dump so that we can return this weekend so really this was a test hole. But we figured that we would try to pull some goodies out before we left as we had spent the better part of 2 hours digging at FULL SPEED. The hole was about 6 ft deep by the time we started hitting the bottles. I pulled out a nice late 1800s "The New York Soda & Seltzer MFG CO Norfolk, VA" bottle, a nice whisky, medicine, and soda...all from the late 1800s. I then whipped the detector out and scanned the dirt that we pulled from the hole and came up with a nice 1800s Graphite Pencil, a nice little brass buckle, and a 1847 Large Cent .She was in pretty rough shape but a Large is a Large. I was happy with the take and I think this weekend will prove it a very good hole!
