todays finds

we had an exceptionally nice day today with temps in the high 60's . I decided to head to the beach and swing the detector around. I found this odd looking birds head, it is hollow with no rust it is not lead/stainless/steel/brass/or aluminum. it was found very near the handle, the handle is very heavy it seems like maybe a small sword,dirk,or cutlass. I'm thinking maybe it was the endcap of the sword.

the coin is a nickel from the local unused school/park.

No clue what those two things are...I do recognize that one item as being a nickel though. Keep looking, keep digging, and have fun with it.
