I dug a buckle very similar to yours, it was in a civil war camp in middle Tennessee, we called them sash buckles. If you want to check yours against mine, you can check Frank Lords civil war book volume 4................

the tag appears to be a spanish mission and across the bottom it says "old church ruins".
