Today's finds

Went back to house that had been demolished and met the owner who gave permission to hunt all I want to! Found a few clad coins out on the parking area in front. Went to area that looked like where they took a tree out and used my 4" coil. I found a bout a 2 1/2" high lead soldier that when cleaned turned out to be a drummer boy. Also found an aluminum token from Long John Silvers....doesn't say anything about sea food but who else could it be? About the size of a silver dollar and has a picture of a sailing ship on one side and a pirate on the other dubbed Tattoo Tom and inscribed Long John Silvers Pirates. The side with the ship is inscribed Long John Silovers Doubloon and the date 1754 under the ship. Not very old but interesting. Also found a small perfume bottle, a marble, a fired .38 lead bullet and another item that looked a lot like an early metal arrow head except it is pot metal I think. Oh heck I don't know what it is! Anyway, had a good time and will bo back first chance I have. Still no old coins but I just know they are there....somewhere. I gotta get a camera!

Re: Today's finds

Jim, is the arrowhead flat and looks maybe like it's actually rust iron instead of pot metal?

Re: Today's finds

No, it's round with a steel shaft about 1" long sticking out the back. I don't think it's an arrow head at all just kinda' looks like some pictures of ones I have seen. Most likely just junk!

Re: Today's finds

Went back this AM (Sunday morning) and swung for about an hour and a half. Found one wheatie of 1941 D vintage and one clad dime 1981 plus six zinc pennies. Also found some kind of pendant made of brass or copper which has an arrow shaft with feathers and arrow head across the front of it and the word "ARROW" imprinted across the top. Perhaps a Boy Scout award? About an inch long and just over 1/4" wide. A 2" belt cinch buckle was found abut an inch deep near the arrow pendant but no belt. Last of all found the sideplate from some kind of Saturday night special pistol made of potmetal. Could have spent all day but had to be in OK City this PM to baby sit one of my Granddaughters (read spoil her rotten for a couple of days). She is a first grader and home from Texas on spring break all next week. Willtake my detector to OK City with me as my son's house backs up to Lake Hamilton which has an old park abuting same. Mild cool front due in tomorrow with chance of thunderstorms and severe wether forecast for the next two days but might be able to get out between rainstorms.

Re: Today's finds

Good luck on the park. Just don't play lightning rod out there! HH
