It could be but that style has been made for a long time 1700s to present? HH :icon_thumright:

Kinda looks like the top of a pocket watch where the winder is and a loop would be thru the hole, maybe. HH
 

My first thought on the piece next to the nickle is the screw that clamps the top jaw down on the flint, off of a flintlock rifle or musket. After a second look it might be too light and dainty for that. Also doesn't have enough threads, so that means that it would have to be broken in the area of the threads.
